Principal Mechanical Engineer Role
Duration: 12 months, renewable
Location: Stavanger
Languages: Must speak and write Norwegian

Qualifications:

  • Technical bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, preferably within mechanical engineering
  • Solid technical competence and understanding of mechanical principles, material science, thermodynamics, and fluid mechanics
  • Experience with technical drawings using AutoCAD or similar tools
  • Formal education may be compensated by experience
  • Trade certificate (Fagbrev) is an advantage

Typical tasks:

  • Contributing to CTR activities/offers, both installation and project-related studies
  • Procurement descriptions/technical specifications for purchasing
  • Supplier follow-up
  • Work package preparation
  • Installation follow-up, red marking documentation, and final documentation
  • Offshore inspections and installation follow-up
  • Coordination and collaboration with drilling teams and installation work
  • Contributing to projects and delivering tasks within allocated timelines and budgets
  • Reporting costs, progress, and deviations to technical lead/package engineer or project managers

Desired experience:

  • Preparation of preliminary and detailed equipment design
  • Project work in multidisciplinary teams
  • Active participation in HAZOP, design reviews, etc.
  • Preparing necessary discipline and system documentation
  • Equipment operation manuals, test procedures, etc.
  • Offshore inspections and participation in system and equipment testing
  • Design document control and/or approval
  • Proactive team player with good communication between involved disciplines
  • Experience in the Norwegian oil & gas industry
