About the Role
We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support the delivery of offshore energy projects based in Lowestoft. This role will involve providing engineering, inspection, and verification support to ensure that mechanical systems, equipment, and structures meet the highest standards of safety, integrity, and compliance.

Working within a multidisciplinary project environment, you will contribute to design reviews, fabrication oversight, testing, and offshore installation activities. The position offers hands-on involvement across all project stages—from design and manufacturing to commissioning and operation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and verify mechanical design documentation including drawings, datasheets, calculations, and specifications

  • Conduct inspections, surveys, and witness testing of mechanical equipment during fabrication, assembly, and commissioning

  • Evaluate compliance with relevant codes, client requirements, and quality standards

  • Prepare detailed inspection and technical reports, including non-conformance records and recommendations

  • Support verification and certification activities for pressure systems, rotating equipment, and mechanical structures

  • Coordinate with internal engineering disciplines and external contractors to resolve technical issues

  • Assist in planning and tracking progress to ensure project schedules and budgets are maintained

  • Ensure adherence to QA, HSE, and regulatory requirements across all project phases

  • Contribute to lessons learned, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives

Requirements

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline

  • Strong experience in offshore, marine, or oil & gas environments involving mechanical inspection, verification, or design review

  • GWO CERTIFIED

  • Knowledge of relevant international standards and codes (e.g. ASME, API, ISO, BS EN)

  • Competent in preparing and reviewing engineering deliverables and inspection documentation

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong technical reporting ability

  • Well-organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities

  • Willingness to travel for site and offshore work as required

  • Right to work in the UK
