The Challenge

Our client was constructing a new energy storage facility in a remote region of the UK. While the main work packages had been awarded to highly reputable subcontractors, the project’s complex technical requirements demanded highly specialised expertise. Due to the site’s location, the subcontractor struggled to attract the necessary contractor resource. This shortage posed a real risk of project delays, particularly during critical phases.

Our Approach

We had already successfully supported our client on this major CAPEX development, placing contractors across multiple disciplines. When the subcontractor encountered resourcing challenges, the client recommended they reach out to us. Understanding the subcontractor’s difficulty in mobilising talent to this specific location, we applied our proven search methodology and market reach to identify high-calibre candidates with the precise skills required.

The Solution

We delivered a targeted shortlist of contractors with specialist E&I and
pre-commissioning expertise. Our team placed personnel on both the client and subcontractor sides. To overcome timing and contractual complexities and avoid delays caused by setting up new agreements we seconded the subcontractor’s team via the client, streamlining the onboarding process and keeping the project moving forward.

The Outcome

The project remains on schedule for commissioning, with the E&I scope now on track for timely delivery. By removing the need for a lengthy terms and conditions process and leveraging talent from key UK hubs, we ensured the client and subcontractor could focus on execution rather than administration keeping a critical infrastructure project on target.
