Background includes specialized expertise in Industrial Electrical and Instrumentation estimating, with additional experience in the power production industry.
Proficient in project estimation software and cost modelling tools, combining strong technical skills with sharp analytical and problem-solving abilities. Your detail-oriented and committed to accuracy, ensuring reliable project forecasts and cost controls that support strategic decision-making.
Strong communication skills that enable you to convey complex technical and financial information to a wide range of stakeholders, able to anticipate project needs and adapt to changing requirements. You excel at managing multiple estimates and priorities in fast-paced environments, while fostering collaboration within cross-functional teams to achieve project goals.
About the Role
The Discipline Estimator (Electrical/Instrumentation/Power) will support LNG and related support facility projects by developing accurate power, electrical, and instrumentation cost estimates. Based in Arlington, VA and reporting to the VP of Estimating, this role combines technical estimating expertise with project controls to ensure reliable cost assessments and timelines. Success requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a solid grasp of project management principles to drive effective planning and decision-making.
Key responsibilities include:
- Gather project requirements and review drawings, contracts, and technical documents to develop accurate estimates.
- Prepare detailed cost breakdowns (materials, labour, equipment, overhead) using industry software and tools.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, procurement, and construction teams to align estimates with project goals.
- Identify cost and schedule risks, and adjust estimates as projects progress.
- Support bid evaluations through cost analysis and documentation review.
- Maintain and update historical data to create benchmarks for future estimates.
- Contribute to project reviews with cost insights and recommendations.
