About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Technical Safety Engineer to contribute to the safe and efficient execution of offshore projects. In this role, you will be a key resource within the technical safety discipline, working closely with project teams to deliver high-quality safety solutions across all phases of design and operation.

You will be expected to provide technical input, perform safety studies, and collaborate with other disciplines to ensure compliance with regulatory and industry standards. While this is not a lead or managerial role, your experience and insight will be highly valued in guiding decisions and maintaining a strong safety culture.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform and contribute to technical safety evaluations, design reviews, and risk assessments.
  • Conduct and participate in safety studies such as HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, WEHRA, etc.
  • Support the development of technical safety documentation and deliverables.
  • Ensure compliance with NORSOK, ISO, IEC standards and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with engineering disciplines to ensure safety is integrated into all design stages.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying lessons learned and best practices.
  • Act as a senior advisor within the team, sharing knowledge and supporting junior engineers when required.

 

Qualifications

  • Fluent in both English and Norwegian (written and spoken).
  • MSc or BSc in Technical Safety, Process Safety, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience within technical safety engineering, preferably in offshore oil & gas.
  • Solid understanding of Norwegian regulatory framework and industry standards.
  • Hands-on experience with safety studies and risk assessments.
  • Familiarity with lifetime extension or decommissioning projects is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.
