About the Role

As an Automation Electrician Engineer, you will play a key role in the design, implementation, and maintenance of automation and electrical systems supporting our well intervention and energy projects. You will work closely with clients and multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, reliable, and innovative solutions that optimize operational performance. This role requires a strong mix of hands-on electrical expertise and automation knowledge, with a focus on offshore and energy sector applications.

Applica’s client is a specialist expert in the design and fabrication of top site Well Service Equipment. The client have a long track record in supplying equipment that meets the strictest quality standards, certifications and technical documentation demands. The client is working with major operators on international Oil&Gas projects with the latest technology within well service equipment.


Responsibilities

  • Design, configure, and maintain automation and electrical systems for well intervention and related operations

  • Prepare and review electrical documentation (single-line diagrams, loop diagrams, I/O lists, wiring schematics, etc.)

  • Support commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance of automation and control systems

  • Perform system testing, calibration, and verification of instrumentation and safety systems

  • Collaborate with mechanical, process, and software teams to ensure integrated system performance

  • Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards, ATEX requirements, and offshore regulations

  • Participate in FATs, HATs, and offshore commissioning activities

  • Provide technical support to project teams and mentor junior colleagues

  • Contribute to HAZOPs, design reviews, and client technical meetings


Qualifications

  • BSc/MSc in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics or 7-10 years of experience within Oil&Gas projects. 

  • Minimum 7–10 years of relevant experience in automation/electrical engineering, preferably within the oil & gas, well intervention, or energy sector

  • Hands-on experience with PLCs, SCADA/DCS systems, and control panel design

  • Knowledge of offshore classification standards (DNV, IECEx, NORSOK, ATEX)

  • Experience with commissioning and brownfield modifications on the Norwegian Continental Shelf is an advantage

  • Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently under offshore conditions

  • Systematic, safety-focused, and solution-oriented approach


Language Requirements

  • Fluent Norwegian (spoken and written) – desirable 

  • Proficiency in English
